Eeek

03 April 2009
Gosh... I just realised I only have 3 posts in March!! *smacks own hand*

However, there are a few good reasons for the lack of posts:
  1. Busy - end of fiscal year AND in the process of changing jobs.
  2. Writer's block - I could not think of anything good to write.
  3. Copyright - I read an article while on holiday something about blogs that breach copyright act. That scares me a little.. From memory it states by writing about a movie / book / series, it somehow breaches the copyright act which most blogs are doing.
  4. Life - in search of 'other' things to do that makes life more interesting. I need a life that doesn't revolve around computer.
  5. Hobbies - picked up new hobbies. Well, I should actually say re-ignite my old hobbies - doing jigsaw puzzles and crocheting.
I am contemplating to stop writing in future. Unless I find a specific topic to write about.

Being a tourist

13 March 2009
Every time I visited Singapore, there's bound to be something new and exciting. There are numerous tourists attractions, such as Sentosa Island, Bird Park, Zoo & Night Safari, Singapore Flyer, Museums and many more. Apart from the tourists attractions, there's also a variety food to be tried as well as shopping!

Currently in Singapore, everywhere you go you will see constructions happening. Nearby where I stayed, a new mrt station is currently being constructed. According to my aunt, the next time I visit Singapore, the mrt station will be ready. Sentosa Island is also under revamp. A resort is under contruction at the old ferry terminal on the island. I was told the resort would have a casino.

Gateway to Sentosa Island

Although the ferry terminal has been demolished, there are other ways to enter Sentosa Island - by bus, car, monorail and cable car. I saw the cute monorail but was slow to take photo of the monorail. :( Because of the construction on Sentosa Island, we didn't go there but viewed the island from Vivo City. A new-ish shopping centre. The place is known with the coldest air-conditioning. I didn't find it cold. ;) The shopping centre is definitely HUGE. I was tired even before browsing all of the stores available there.

Food, food, Glorious FOOD!

09 March 2009
During my short trip, I didn't not do any sight-seeing despite planning to visit a few tourist destinations in Singapore. Thus not taking much photos at all. But what I did take are FOOD!

Mr. Bean soya bean milk

The best thing about being back in Malaysia and Singapore is the variety of food. The first day of the trip, I craved for soya bean milk. It was harder to find than I had expected. Neevertheless, the hard work was paid off when I saw Mr. Bean (that's the store name, not related to the British Mr. Bean). Anything and everything soya bean. I ordered soya bean milk with grass jelly and pancake. Yummy for breakfast!!

While in Kuching, my awesome cousin brought us to The Spring and Boulevard shopping malls. In between, we went to a malay coffee shop for snack. The snack is none other than roti canai! Mouth-watering roti planta and roti telur!! It is at this coffee shop that I first tasted wheatgrass c. Basically it is wheatgrass drink with milk. It is green in colour but really tastes better than it looks. For those who doesn't know what wheatgrass is, wheatgrass is the young grass of a certain type of wheat plant which is claimed to have nutritional value. I would want to include photos but sadly I didn't bring camera with me. :(

Back at home, mom cooked festive dish for us since we weren't at home for chinese new year:

Shark fin dish

Baked stuffed crab

Stir-fry dou miao (pea shoots) with abalone mushroom

Century Egg eaten with preserved leeks

One of the dinner, mom cooked chicken soup with abalone. The next day I cooked noodles for breakfast using the left-overs soup.

I had other dishes and food which I didn't take photos of. :) I definitely have enjoyed eating during this trip!
